Using the app with a class or program

The US Citizenship Test app is free to download on iOS and Android, and plenty of adult ESL instructors, library program coordinators, and community college staff already point learners at it. If that is you, this page is for you.

What the app covers

All 128 questions on the 2025 civics test and all 100 on the 2008 test, in the official USCIS wording.
Every question read aloud, which matters because the real civics test is oral — the officer reads each question and the applicant answers verbally.
Six study languages: English, Spanish, Turkish, French, Russian, and Chinese.
Progress tracking per learner, on their own device. Nothing is shared with an instructor, and there is no class roster or dashboard.

Which test version your learners take

It depends on when they filed Form N-400. Filed before October 20, 2025: the 2008 test, up to 10 questions from a pool of 100, passing at 6 correct. Filed on or after October 20, 2025: the 2025 test, up to 20 questions from a pool of 128, passing at 12 correct. Both versions are in the app. Full comparison of the 2008 and 2025 civics tests.

Everything described above is free; an optional Pro subscription adds AI mock interviews for individual learners who want them.
